STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford senior Cameron Brink was one of 15 players named to the Naismith Defensive Player of the Year Watch List, the Atlanta Tipoff Club announced Wednesday.
The nation's leading active shot blocker with 375 in her career, Brink will soon become the 17th Division I player with 400 career rejections. She is coming off a weekend in which she totaled 15 blocks in games against No. 15 USC and No. 7 UCLA to up her career total to 30 games with five or more rejections, which leads the nation since 2020-21.
Brink leads the country in both total blocks (78) and blocks per game (3.55), and is sixth in rebounds per game (11.9). Using College Basketball Reference advanced metrics, she tops all DI players defensive rating (65.8), total rebound percentage (26.7) and block percentage (14.2).
The reigning WBCA Defensive Player of the Year, Brink was a finalist for the Naismith honor last season.
Brink and the No. 6 Cardinal are on the road this weekend, playing at Washington on Friday at 7 p.m. and Washington State on Sunday at 1 p.m.
