DAVIS, Calif. - Sophie Wallace scored three of her four goals in a clutch fourth quarter as No. 4 Stanford defeated No. 14 UC Davis 13-10 on Saturday afternoon.

Stanford (7-2) picked up its sixth straight win while defeating UC Davis (1-10) for the second time this season, having also beaten the Aggies 20-4 back on Jan. 21 at Fresno State's Polo-Palooza.

Tied 10-10, the Cardinal's defense held the Aggies scoreless over the final eight minutes while Wallace scored three times over a four-minute stretch late in the period. Wallace is three goals shy of 100 for her career.

Christina Hicks also contributed four goals on seven attempts while Maggie Hawkins chipped in with two goals.

Both teams came out of the gates firing in the opening quarter, with the match even at 4-4.

Hicks scored three of her four goals in the second quarter and suddenly the Cardinal turned a 4-4 tie into a 9-5 lead at the break.
