  • Stanford made its presence known on the first weekend of play in the 2024 season at the Outrigger Duke Kahanamoku Beach Classic. The Cardinal kicked off play with upsets of No. 5 LMU and No. 1 USC-- the program's first win over the Women of Troy-- and followed the next day with wins over No. 9 Hawai'i and No. 2 UCLA. Stanford ended its time in Honolulu falling 3-2 to No. 2 UCLA in the semifinals of the classic.
  • Registering three upsets in four matches sent the Cardinal up five spots in the national rankings this week-- the second most by any program in the nation.
  • Sophomore duo Kelly Belardi and Ashley Vincent was a huge driver in the success Stanford saw in Hawaii, as the pair clinched the duals against both No. 1 USC and No. 2 USC and went 5-0 throughout the tournament. The five wins in the tournament secured the pair 33 total wins as a duo, setting a new Cardinal record for career wins as a pair in just their sophomore seasons. Belardi and Vincent's record-setting weekend earned the pair both AVCA/CBVB National Pair of the Week and Pac-12 Conference Pair of the Week Awards.
  • When looking at Stanford's Career Wins (individual) records, four current Stanford seniors sit in the top 10-- Kate Reilly (third, 70 wins), Maya Harvey (fourth, 68 wins), Xolani Hodel and Emmy Sharp (tied for sixth, 65 wins). All four are members of the 2019-20 signing class (first played during the 2021 season), largely regarded then as the most decorated incoming freshman class to come to The Farm since the inception of the program. Since 2021, the Cardinal has recorded three back-to-back-to-back 20+ win seasons (each growing the program's record win total for a single season) and three consecutive appearances to the NCAA Championships.
  • Next up, the Cardinal takes the road and visits the site of the 2024 Pac-12 Championship for the Pac-12 South Beach Invitational March 8-9 in Tempe, Ariz. Stanford faces a rematch with now No. 1 UCLA and a matchup with host No. 11 Arizona State on March 8 while matches with the Golden Bears and Ducks are set for March 9. All four matches will be televised on Pac-12 Washington.
