Trojans Topple Stanford

LOS ANGELES – In a showdown between two of the nation's premier programs, No. 4 Stanford fell in a back-and-forth affair to No. 7 USC, 155.5-142.5.

The loss pushes the Cardinal to 7-1 on the season as it drops its first regular season meet since 2021.

Aurora Roghair highlighted the Cardinal on the day with three freestyle event titles. The Iowa City, Iowa native won consecutive races to kick off the meet, posting a Stanford Top-10 mark with a 1:42.44 in the 200 free after collecting another 1000 free race win on the season with a 9:35.29 in the early going. Roghair added another win later in the meet with a 4:39.70 in the 500 Free.

The Cardinal collected a podium sweep in the 200 fly, as Lucy Bell gave Stanford its second Top-10 time of the afternoon with a 1:52.62, with Lillie Nordmann and Charlotte Hook claiming the next two spots on the podium. Bell also collected a 100 fly event title with a time of 51.76.

The backstroke prowess of Natalie Mannion was on display once again on Saturday, as she clocked a 1:53.51 for the 200 back race title.

Amy Tang shared an event title with USC's Caroline Famous in the 50 free after they each touched at 22.16, while Caroline Bricker closed out individual competition with a 1:56.35.

Stanford finished with eight individual victories of the possible 12 races but sweeps in both relay and diving events propelled the Trojans to victory.

The Cardinal will return on Saturday, Feb. 17 to visit No. 5 California at noon PT in the regular-season finale.
