STANFORD, Calif. – Five Cardinal have been named National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Scholar All-Americans, the organization announced Friday.
Representing Stanford as individual Scholar All-Americans are redshirt senior Jaden Abas (psychology/sociology MA), senior Nick Stemmet (science, technology and society), sophomores Daniel Cardenas and Nico Provo, and redshirt freshman Hunter Garvin.
As a team, Stanford was 14th nationally with a 3.4376 GPA.
Abas (149 pounds) and Stemmet (197 pounds) earn their fourth career honors, while Provo (125 pounds) is a repeat selection. Cardenas (157 pounds) and Garvin (165 pounds) are being recognized for the first time. All five were 2024 NCAA qualifiers for Stanford.
Awarded annually, the NWCA All-Academic Team contained 338 student-athletes from 78 different schools in 2023-24.
