Four All-MPSF Recipients

STANFORD, Calif. - Sophie Wallace, Christina Hicks, Maggie Hawkins and Kamryn Barone were named all-conference selections, as announced Wednesday in advance of this weekend's MPSF Championship.

Wallace was named to the first team, Hicks earned a spot on the second team, Hawkins was tabbed honorable mention and Barone booked a spot on the All-Newcomer team. Hawkins is the only repeat selection, having been named to the All-Newcomer team in 2023.

The Cardinal was awarded at least four all-conference recipients for the sixth straight season.

Stanford (16-5, 4-2 MPSF) has maintained its standing as one of the nation's elite teams in 2024, thanks to multiple players emerging as team leaders and developing into offensive threats. Seeded No. 3 in the MPSF Championship, Stanford has defeated conference rivals California and USC twice while holding opponents to five goals or fewer on seven occasions.

Six Cardinal players have scored at least 20 goals, with Wallace, Hicks and Hawkins all eclipsing their production from last season and establishing career-high totals.

Wallace (48 goals, 27 assists, 115 shots, 16 multi-goal games) has been impressive after returning for a fifth year. Wallace, who has appeared in every game during her career, has exceeded her production from last season in which she produced 25 goals, 12 assists, 51 shots and six multi-goal games. Wallace has been Stanford's leading scorer in five games, matching her career high of five goals on two occasions.

Hicks (39 goals, 75 shots, nine multi-goal games) has nearly equaled the scoring production from her first three seasons, when she combined to deliver 41 goals. Hicks has been the Cardinal's leading scorer in five games, scoring a career-high five goals in the season opener against UC Irvine on Jan. 20.

Hawkins (29 goals, 10 assists, 65 shots, 8 multi-goal games) has continued her development following a strong rookie season, establishing herself as a consistent scoring presence. Hawkins, who also leads the MPSF in sprint wins (41), has paced Stanford in scoring three times this season and was named MPSF Player of the Week for April 9.

Barone (30 goals, 16 assists, 61 shots, 7 multi-goal games) ranks fourth on the team in scoring and is tied for second in assists. Barone has been the Cardinal's leading scorer twice, including a five-goal effort against UC Santa Barbara on Feb. 23.

Stanford will face host Indiana in Friday's opening round of the MPSF Championship at 10:45 a.m. The Cardinal is attempting to win its third straight conference title and eighth overall.
