OJAI, Calif. - No. 3 Stanford took care of business in the quarterfinals of the Pac-12 Tournament on Thursday afternoon with a 4-0 win over No. 41 Arizona. The second-seeded Cardinal advances to Friday's semifinals, where it will face the winner of No. 11 USC and No. 26 Washington.
The win pushes Stanford's record to 20-2 overall and extends its win streak to six matches. The Cardinal is now 17-1 all-time at the Pac-12 Tournament.
Stanford won on all three doubles courts by 6-4 scores. Connie Ma and Alexandra Yepifanova finished first on Court 1. Angelica Blake and Alexis Blokhina on Court 2 and Katherine Hui and Valencia Xu on Court 3 served for it at the same time, with Blake and Blokhina finishing seconds ahead.
Blokhina and Blake also nabbed two of the Cardinal's three singles wins. Blokhina beat Midori Castillo-Meza on Court 4, 6-1, 6-2 and Blake dispatched Reece Carter on Court 1, 6-3, 6-3. Valencia Xu had the clincher on Court 6, beating Tanvi Narendran 6-2, 6-1.
