STANFORD, Calif. – Middle blocker Sami Francis has been named ACC Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday.
It is the second weekly honor of the season for the senior, who averaged a team-best 2.00 blocks per set to go with 2.33 kills per set on .500 hitting (14-1-26) and 3.58 points per set in a pair of road sweeps at Duke and North Carolina.
The San Diego native registered a career-high 12 blocks against North Carolina. The Cardinal notched a season-best 16.0 blocks as a team, holding the Tar Heels to a -.091 clip.
No. 6 Stanford closes out the regular season this week, facing No. 19 Georgia Tech on Wednesday in Atlanta before returning to The Farm for Senior Day on Saturday versus No. 3 Louisville at 1 p.m.
