STANFORD, Calif. – Less than two months away from one of its most highly anticipated seasons in school history, Stanford ranks among the nation’s top programs when it comes to individual honors.
The Cardinal landed three players among the InsideLacrosse.com Top 50 Players For 2025 list, with Aliya Polisky (19), Annabel Frist (46) and Lucy Pearson (50) earning preseason recognition.
Stanford’s total of three top-50 selections ranks tied for fourth in the country, behind only defending NCAA champion Boston College (6), Northwestern (5) and Michigan (5). North Carolina also was recognized with three picks.
In addition to being named All-Americans last season, the trio of Frist, Pearson and Polisky was dominant in the Pac-12. Frist (19 goals, 19 draw controls) was named the Draw Specialist of the Year, Polisky (53 goals, 18 assists, 120 shots) was tabbed the Freshman of the Year and Pearson (132 saves) claimed the Goalkeeper of the Year award.
The Cardinal, which swept the Pac-12 regular-season and tournament titles in three of the last four seasons (2021-22, 24), will now transition to the ACC, the nation’s deepest conference boating eight NCAA championships among its current membership and 19 overall.
Stanford should prove to be a valuable and competitive addition to the conference, having made 12 NCAA Tournament appearances in school history in addition to being consistently ranked in the top-25.
Stanford will open its season against a pair of former Pac-12 rivals, visiting USC in the season opener on Feb. 8 before welcoming Colorado on Feb. 13 in its home opener on The Farm.
