STANFORD, Calif. - No. 3 Stanford had another impressive display at Avery Aquatics Center on Saturday afternoon, winning 15 of 16 events en route to a 207-92 victory over No. 18 USC.
Sophomore Lucy Bell had the Cardinal's best individual performance of the day with a trio of race victories, including two new career-highs in the butterfly events. Bell's first victory came in the 100 fly, besting her previous career mark with a 58.53 to climb to third in the "Stanford Top-10" in the event. The Fort Collins, Colo., native's day continued in the 200 fly, where she already ranks second in program history, adding another career-best with a time of 2:05.92 to narrowly miss the school record by four-hundredths of a second. Bell capped off her meet with yet another win in the 400 IM, clocking a time of 4:06.71.
Torri Huske, Lillie Nordmann, and Aurora Roghair also had impressive showings, each winning a pair of events on Saturday. Huske posted a new career-best with a 1:41.90 in the 200 free before winning the 100 free with a 48.47 time later in the meet. Nordmann swept the butterfly events with 52.51 (100 fly) and 1:53.28 (200 fly) times, while Roghair once again dominated the distance freestyle events with a 4:36.15 time in the 500 free and a 9:29.66 swim in the 1000 free.
Freshman Levenia Sim notched a victory in the 100 back with a time of 52.98, while Natalie Mannion claimed the 200 back crown after a 1:53.78 effort. Gigi Johnson rounded out Stanford's individual winners with a win in the 50 free, touching first with a mark of 22.46.
Stanford also swept both relays on Saturday, with Sim, Lucy Thomas, Huske, and Amy Tang posting a 1:35.54 to win the 200 medley, while the quartet of Johnson, Huske, Nordmann, and Tang capped off the meet with a race-winning time of 3:12.91 in the 400 free relay.
In the diving competition, which was scored at the Cal Diving Invitational, Anna Lemkin brought home the 1-meter crown with a score of 308.05, while USC claimed the 3-meter event title.
Stanford returns to action for the regular season finale against No. 10 California at noon PT on Feb. 1. The meet will also serve as the program's Senior Day and will be broadcast live on ACC Network Extra.
