Event Title Sweep and Season-Best Total Lifts No. 15 Cardinal Over No. 23 UNC

Roberts won her third consecutive all-around and bars titles, alongside the vault's best performance, while Robinson secured the beam and floor event wins

STANFORD, Calif. – Led by a season-best team total, No. 15 Stanford took down No. 23 North Carolina 197.250-195.775 inside Maples Pavilion Friday evening.

The Cardinal swept all individual event titles, as junior Anna Roberts secured her third consecutive all-around and bars top finishes and added the top score on vault. Sophomore Sienna Robinson brought home the beam and floor titles, her second and third event wins of the year. 

Stanford started its night with a season-best vault rotation, led by Roberts’ title-winning 9.950 in the anchor spot which matched her career-best score on the event. The Cardinal’s 49.250 team total was guided by a season-best score of 9.875 from junior Taralyn Nguyen, scores of 9.825 from seniors Anapaula Gutierrez and Brenna Neault and a score of 9.775 from freshman Alana Walker.

The Cardinal held a .425 lead after one rotation, 49.250-48.825. 

Bars was the highlight of the night, as the Cardinal’s 49.500 team total marked one of the best bars rotations seen in the country this season. Roberts posted another 9.950, this time a new career-best, while freshman Ui Soma anchored the rotation with a collegiate-best 9.925. Gutierrez, junior Ava Sorrento and freshman Kendra Chang each posted scores of 9.875, season-bests for Gutierrez and Sorrento and a collegiate-best for Chang. 

Stanford’s lead grew to over a point halfway through the meet.  

Stanford then took on beam, scoring a 49.200 team total led by Robinson’s 9.950 anchor routine. Junior Claire Dean led off with a 9.850, followed by the same score from sophomore Temple Landry, while Soma posted a 9.800 in the fourth spot. Roberts rounded out scoring routines with a 9.750 in the third spot.

After three rotations, the Cardinal led 147.950-146.675. 

The night ended on a high note, as the Cardinal continued its success of the 2025 season on the floor with a team total of 49.300. Robinson led the way with a 9.900, followed by a 9.875 in her collegiate debut on floor from junior Ashley Carter. Dean kicked off the rotation with a 9.850 and Walker matched that total in the fifth spot, while Neault posted a 9.825 in the second spot. 

Stanford now hits the road, this time just across the bay to Berkeley, Calif. Feb. 7, to take on the Golden Bears on their home turf. The conference matchup is set for a 7 p.m. start and will be streamed on ACC Network Extra.
