MANAHAWKIN, N.J. — Stanford field hockey was once again well-represented in the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) DI National Academic Squad as 21 players were honored by the association on Wednesday.
Out of the nearly 1,100 athletes recognized, Stanford produced 21 players of its own to the list which was one shy of the highest by any program in the nation. The NFHCA National Academic Squad program honors student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative 3.5 GPA or higher throughout the fall semester and were nominated by their NFHCA member coaches.
The Cardinal awaits three more academic awards to be handed out by the association in the coming weeks. The NFHCA Scholars of Distinction - which Stanford boasted three honorees last season - will be announced on February 14 while the 2025 NFHCA National Academic Team and National Scholar-Athlete will be announced on February 18 and 20, respectively.
