STANFORD, Calif. — Following a five–point outing against No. 7 Virginia last Saturday, Stanford lacrosse junior Jordyn Case has been named the IWLCA DI and Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Offensive Player of the Week, both the organization and conference announced Wednesday, respectively.
Case, who tallied 4-1-5 line against the Cavaliers, was prominent in securing Stanford’s first victory in the ACC in its debut while also aiding the Cardinal to its first program win over UVA. Case helped the Stanford offense by tallying a goal in each quarter while also going 2-for-3 on free position attempts. She was also dominant in the draw circle claiming 7 of Stanford’s 14 draw controls on the afternoon, which set a new single-game high.
A native of Charlotte, N.C., Case sits fourth on the team in points with 13 heading into this weekend, courtesy of eight goals and five assists. Her three free position goals sit tied for the team lead in that department while her 20 draw controls sees her atop the team lead and seventh in the conference.
No. 8 Stanford is back in action this weekend at Cagan Stadium playing host to Pitt and Villanova on Thursday, Feb. 27 and Saturday, March 1, respectively. Opening draw on Thursday is slated for 3 p.m. while Saturday’s game is scheduled for 1 p.m. with both games airing on ACCNX.
