Cardinal Posts 197.100 at No. 3 UCLA

No. 12 Stanford earned its second-best away team total of the year, falling 197.675-197.100 at No. 3 UCLA

LOS ANGELES – No. 12 Stanford posted its second-best road score of the season Sunday but fell to No. 3 UCLA, 197.675-197.100, on senior night at Pauley Pavilion.

Senior Brenna Neault led the Cardinal with its only event title, matching her career-best 9.950 on beam in Stanford’s strongest rotation of the night. She and junior Anna Roberts each recorded all-around totals of 39.450, the second-best marks of the meet.

The competition began with Stanford on bars, its highest-ranked event of 2025. The team posted a 49.350—its second-best rotation of the night and tied for third-best this season. Senior Anapaula Gutierrez opened with a career-best-matching 9.925, followed by a 9.800 from freshman Kendra Chang and a 9.850 from Neault. Roberts matched Gutierrez’s score with a 9.925 in the fifth spot, while freshman Ui Soma anchored with a 9.850.

Stanford led by .125 after one rotation.

The Cardinal then delivered its third-best vault rotation of the year—and second-best on the road—totaling 49.125. Gutierrez led the way with a 9.875 in the fifth spot, while Chang opened the lineup with a career-best 9.850, followed by Neault (9.800), Soma (9.775), and Roberts (9.825).

UCLA took a 98.575-98.475 lead at the halfway point.

On floor, Stanford posted a 49.125, highlighted by a 9.875 from sophomore Sienna Robinson in the third spot. Junior Claire Dean led off with a 9.800, while Roberts and Neault each earned totals of 9.850. Junior Ashley Carter and freshman Alana Walker rounded out the lineup with scores of 9.750.

After three rotations, UCLA extended its lead to 148.150-147.600.

Stanford closed the night on beam with a 49.500 team total, its highest event score of the evening and its second-best beam total of the season. Competing in her hometown, Neault matched her career-best total of 9.950, while sophomore Temple Landry, celebrating her birthday, set a new personal best with a 9.925. Carter tied her career-best 9.900 in the third spot, while Dean led off with a 9.875 and Roberts posted a total of 9.850. 

Stanford wraps up the regular season with a two-meet week, hosting No. 18 Denver on March 14 for senior night before competing in the Haas Quad meet on March 16.
