STANFORD, Calif. – The No. 13 Stanford Cardinal delivered a stellar performance on senior night, celebrating Anapaula Gutierrez and Brenna Neault with a 197.175-196.475 victory over No. 18 Denver inside Maples Pavilion.
Stanford’s score of 197.175 marked its fourth home meet of the 2025 season scoring 197.000 or better—the first time since at least 1999 that the team has achieved this feat in every home competition.
Gutierrez claimed her first event title of the year on vault with a 9.900, while junior Anna Roberts secured her fourth all-around (39.450) and floor (9.900) titles of the season.
The Cardinal opened the night on vault, tying its second-best team score of the season with a 49.150. Gutierrez led the squad with a season-best 9.900, securing the apparatus title. Junior Taralyn Nguyen followed with her highest score since Jan. 31 (9.850), while Neault (9.825) and freshman Ui Soma (9.800) also contributed strong routines. Freshman Kendra Chang and Roberts each added 9.775s.
Despite the solid start, Denver took a narrow 49.250-49.150 lead after the first rotation.
Stanford responded on bars with a 49.275, led by Roberts’ 9.875 in the fifth spot of the lineup. Sophomore Sienna Robinson, Neault, junior Ava Sorrento, and Soma all posted 9.850s, while Gutierrez set the tone with a 9.800 in the leadoff spot.
At the halfway point, Stanford surged ahead, leading 98.425-98.050.
The Cardinal delivered their strongest rotation of the night on beam, posting a meet-high 49.475. Three gymnasts earned scores of 9.900s—lead-off junior Claire Dean, Neault, and Roberts—while sophomores Temple Landry and Robinson each added totals of 9.875.
With three rotations complete, Stanford extended its lead to 0.625.
The home team finished its night strong with a floor rotation that earned a team total of 49.300. Dean set the stage for the rotation, leading off with a 9.875, and was followed by the same total from fellow junior Ashley Carter. Freshman Alana Walker posted a 9.800 in the fourth spot of the lineup while Roberts’ title-winning 9.900 came in the fifth spot. Junior Taralyn Nguyen finished the night anchoring the lineup with a 9.850.
The Cardinal have a quick turnaround, traveling across the Bay on Sunday to compete in the Haas Quad Meet #2 against No. 6 California, Arizona State, and San Jose State. Action begins at 2 p.m. and will be streamed on ACC Network Extra.
