Akash Modi to CGA Hall of Fame

Modi and the Class of 2025 are set to be inducted by CGA in mid-April

STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford alumni Akash Modi, one of the most accomplished men's gymnasts in NCAA history, has been selected to the 2025 College Gymnastics Association (CGA) Hall of Fame class and is set to be inducted in mid-April.

Modi's decorated Cardinal career included five individual NCAA titles and a Stanford record 17 NCAA All-America honors. The 2017 Nissen-Emery winner won the NCAA all-around title in 2015 and 2017 and is one of just 17 gymnasts in NCAA history to become a multiple-time all-around champion.

A Tom Hansen medal recipient and Al Masters award winner, Modi also won multiple NCAA event titles on parallel bars in 2016 and 2017, along with a high bar crown in 2016. Of Modi's 17 All-American awards, fourteen of them were top-3 finishes in the event.

At the conference level, Modi was one of four gymnasts in conference history to win four MPSF Gymnast of the Year awards along with individual conference titles during his time on The Farm. Consistently one of the nation's top performers, Modi collected 16 CGA National Gymnast of the Week honors during his career.

On the international level, Modi was twice named a U.S. Olympic Team alternate for the 2016 Rio and 2020 Tokyo Games and was a two-time World Championships team member for the United States in 2019 and 2020. He was also a member of Team USA's gold medal-winning team at the 2018 Pacific Rim Championships, winning individual gold on parallel bars and a pair of silver medals in the all-around and still rings.

Modi is the second inductee in program history, joining Steve Hug, who was celebrating with the inaugural CGA Hall of Fame Class of 2024.
