Case to Tewaaraton Watch List

Cardinal junior joins list for nation's top honor

STANFORD, Calif. — Junior Jordyn Case sees her name added to one of the nation’s prestigious awards, being named to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List as part of the second round of additions announced by the Tewaaraton Foundation on Thursday.

Case has been a brute force this season for the Cardinal as the North Carolina native has amassed 18 goals and six assists in 11 games this season. Case had her breakout game in Stanford’s historic win over No. 7 Virginia earlier this season, grabbing four goals and seven draw controls en route to a five-point outing. With her performance against the Cavaliers, Case was named the IWLCA and ACC Offensive Player of the Week while also earning the ILWomen.com AXIA DI Player of the Week nod.

At attack, Case has recorded a point in every game she has played in this season, amassing three hat tricks in the process including a three-goal outing in the dominant 23-4 win over Virginia Tech. Case also sits second on the Cardinal in draw controls this season, grabbing 38 on the campaign while also tying her single-game high of seven draw controls twice this season (2/16 v. No. 7 Virginia & 3/07 v.  No. 11/10 Syracuse).

No. 4/6 Stanford is back in action this weekend, taking part in ACC action against Louisville on Saturday, March 29. Opening draw is slated for 9 a.m. PT.
