STANFORD, Calif. - The No. 4 Cardinal (9-3) is set to make a run for the Howe Cup this weekend, heading to Philadelphia for the CSA National Championships.
Stanford earned a round of 16 bye, and will take on the winner of No. 4 Penn and No. 12 Dartmouth on Friday. The quarterfinal matchup will start at 8:00 a.m. PT.
Last season, the Card went 3-1 at nationals to earn a fifth-place finish.
FOURTH-RANKED CARD » Stanford opened the season at No. 5 in the CSA Women's Varsity rankings, fresh off last year's fifth-place national finish, and now sits at number four in the rankings.
STRONG REGULAR SEASON » The Card is 9-3 with one weekend remaining, already boasting seven top-10 wins. Stanford has a chance to excede the team's win total from last season. The team's nine wins in 2023-24 were the most in a season since winning 16 games in 2017-18.
DOMINANT FRESHMEN » The freshman class of Riya Navani (7-4), Valerie Huang (10-2), Amelie Haworth (9-2) and Tiana Parasrampuria (5-6) have been hugely impactful for the Cardinal, combining to go 31-14 on the season.
INDIVIDUAL NATIONALS RECAP » Six members of the Cardinal competed at the CSA Individual National Championships: Riya Navani, Madison Ho, Mariana Narvaez Dardon, Amelie Haworth, Yuvna Gupta and Miriam Cheng. Navani finished second in the country after going 4-1 on the weekend.
RETURNING WITH HARDWARE » The Cardinal picked up a second-consecutive MASC crown earlier this season, adding to a recent trophy case that includes last season's CSA Most Improved Team award and the Chaffee award for sportsmanship.
