STANFORD, Calif. – Outside hitter Theo Snoey and libero Evan Porter have has been selected the Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF), respectively, the conference announced today.
Snoey led Stanford offensively in a pair of wins at No. 3 USC, averaging 5.67 kills on .358 hitting and 5.94 points per set. Porter anchored the defense with 3.11 digs per set. The Cardinal extended its winning streak over the Trojans to five matches.
Snoey recorded a career-high 25 kills on .333 hitting on Friday to go with two blocks and two assists as the Cardinal won its first five-set match of the season. He set a new career-high with 26 kills on a .383 attack percentage, an ace and 11 digs for his first double-double of the season. His 26 kills are the most by an MPSF player this season.
Porter registered a career-high 17 digs and a career-best eight assists on Friday. His 17 digs are the most by an MPSF player this season. On Saturday, Porter had 11 digs and three assists in a four-set victory. He also had just one reception error in a combined 54 total attempts.
Stanford closes out the regular season this week, hosting No. 13 Grand Canyon on Thursday and Friday in Maples Pavilion.
