STANFORD, Calif. – Junior Trevor Haskins and freshman Tatum Marsh each garnered All-ACC recognition following Stanford’s first season in the ACC, it was announced on Monday.
Haskins landed on the All-ACC third team as a third baseman, while Marsh was selected to the All-Freshman squad.
Haskins has started 50 of Stanford’s first 51 games, and has hit safely in all but eight of his games played this year. The native of San Jose, Calif. has batted .329 with 45 runs scored, a team-best 13 doubles, 13 home runs and 41 RBIs. Haskins, who is slugging .569, leads the team with 23 multi-hit games and 13 multi-RBI contests, while his 71 hits rank 10th in the ACC and tops among Stanford players. The Cardinal leadoff hitter homered six times, compiled seven doubles and drove in 21 runs while scoring 20 and batting .323 in ACC play.
Patrolling the Cardinal outfield, Marsh has appeared in 49 of Stanford’s first 51 games, including starting 48. The standout first-year player has reached base safely in all but two of his games played this season, and has hit safely in all but nine contests with an at bat. The native of San Jose, Calif. leads the team and ranks fourth in the ACC with a .374 batting average. Aided by a team-best 18 hit-by-pitches to rank fourth in the conference, Marsh also leads the Cardinal with a .456 on-base percentage. Marsh has scored a team-high 47 runs while collecting a team-best 13 doubles, two triples, three home runs and 25 RBIs. Ranked second on the team with 19 multi-hit games, Marsh batted .376 with 21 runs scored, six doubles, two homers and 16 RBIs in ACC play.
The Cardinal is preparing to play in its first ACC Baseball Championship tournament beginning Tuesday with a 10 a.m. PT game against Virginia Tech.
