STANFORD, Calif. – Honored for their work in the classroom, in addition to on their respective playing surfaces, 12 Stanford student-athletes have garnered Academic All-District at-large honors from College Sports Communicators.
The Cardinal’s 12 honorees are Luise Bachmann (women’s rowing), Mark Berlaga (men’s gymnastics), Arianna Cao (fencing), Arun Chhetri (men’s gymnastics), Ian Lasic-Ellis (men’s gymnastics), Ryann Neushul (women’s water polo), Jackson Painter (men’s water polo), Aliya Polisky (women’s lacrosse), Riley Pittman (men’s water polo), Jewel Roemer (women’s water polo), Theo Snoey (men’s volleyball) and Ruby Sorra (beach volleyball).
All 12 athletes were selected in the at-large category and they all have advanced to the national ballot for Academic All-America consideration. Berlaga (first team, 2024) is looking for his second-career Academic All-America honor, while the award would be the first for the other 11 with all-district accolades.
CSC sponsors Academic All-America programs for men's soccer, women's soccer, football, volleyball, men's basketball, women's basketball, men's swimming & diving, women's swimming & diving, men's tennis, women's tennis, baseball, softball and men's and women's track and field/cross country. The at-large program spans 22 additional NCAA sports.
