Cardinal saw records at the plate and at the box office in 2025

THE CARDINAL RE-WROTE THE RECORD BOOKS IN 2025, posting one of the best offensive seasons in program history and going 42-13. The season sent Stanford to the postseason for the sixth-straight year, as the Card went 16-8 in the program's first season in the ACC.

As a team, the 2025 Cardinal set program records for batting average (.354), hits (536), home runs (101), RBI (422), slugging percentage (.633) and most importantly runs scoed (448).

The team's 42 wins marked a third-straight season with 40+ wins, and the conference record gave the program a fourth-straight season with 10+ conference wins.

Stanford opened the season on fire, starting 10-0 with eight run-rule victories. The early momentum culminated on Feb. 21, when the Cardinal beat then-No. 1 Texas 9-5 to claim a victory over the eventual NCAA champion Longhorns.

Then on April 19, the Cardinal claimed an NCAA record with a crowd of 13,207 at Stanford Stadium for the Big Swing against California.

Stanford's season came to a close at the Eugene Regional, where the Card took the host Oregon Ducks to a winner-take all game seven before falling 10-7.

The Cardinal hit with record-breaking power in 2025. The team's 101 home runs in 55 games were the most in a season in program history. The 101 homers were the seventh-most in the country, and came from 12 different players, including first-career home runs from River Mahler and Ella Murchison.

Taryn Kern led the team with 19 long balls on the season, tied for the most in a single season in program history. Kern wasn't the only one to break into the record book. Joie Economides' 15 homers were the fourth-most in a season in program history, and Jade Berry's 14 were tied for the fifth-most.

Juniors River Mahler (Second Team) and Emily Jones (Third Team) each earned NFCA All-America honors for the first time in their careers. Mahler led the team with a .429 batting average, while Jones was not far behind at .413.

The duo gives Stanford a third-straight season with an All-America honoree, and 35 total selections from 20 different student-athletes.

I think right now we are going to celebrate what we had in this team. I told them in the huddle afterwards, this might be my favorite team I've ever coached. Nothing this year has been easy; it's been hard, and we’ve been resilient and tough and stuck together and cared most about the team. We have a group of young women in the locker room that love each other and compete with one another; it's been a coach's dream. So we will be back and we will be ready, but right now we feel like we let one get away from us here. But I'm just incredibly proud of this group, a fantastic group of young women.
