Pair Nabs ACC Honors

Named Setter and Freshman of the Week

STANFORD, Calif. – Logan Parks has been voted the ACC Co-Setter of the Week, while Erika Sayer has been tabbed Freshman of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.

It is the first weekly honors for both Parks and Sayer, who helped lead Stanford to a 3-0 record last week.

Parks set the Cardinal offense to a combined .359 hitting in wins at No. 23 Missouri (3-1) and at home over Utah State (3-0) and UC Davis (3-0). The setter averaged 11.20 assists per set to go with 2.00 digs, 1.30 blocks, 0.40 aces and 1.45 points per set.

At Mizzou, Parks set the Cardinal to its highest team hitting percentage of the season (.408) with career-highs of 58 assists, eight digs and five blocks. Against Utah State, she tallied 31 assists to go with four digs, a kill and a career-high tying five blocks. In the sweep over UC Davis, she dished out 23 assists as the Cardinal hit .346 as a team. She also recorded her first collegiate ace, finishing with four for the match and had eight digs and three blocks. 

Sayer averaged 3.10 kills on .500 hitting, 1.70 blocks and 4.05 points per set in the three wins. The middle blocker registered a career-high 16 kills on a then-career-best .583 attack percentage and a then-career-high six blocks in the ranked-win over the Tigers. She also recorded her first collegiate ace to give the Cardinal a 33-31second-set win.

Sayer tallied a career-high nine blocks and six kills in a sweep over Utah State. In a sweep over UC Davis, she hit a career-high .667 with nine kills on 12 swings with just one error to go with two blocks and a dig.

No. 4 Stanford remains on The Farm this week, hosting Hawaii on Friday, Texas State on Saturday and UCLA on Sunday.
