STANFORD, Calif. - The No. 4 Stanford Cardinal is staying close to home this weekend, playing at No. 5 San Jose State on Friday before hosting No. 11 Pepperdine on Sunday. The sunday matchup will be the Card's home opener, and the first of six-straight games played at Avery Aquatics Center.
The Card enters at 6-2 on the season, after going 2-2 at last weekend's Overnght MPSF Invitational. Stanford's only losses on the season came at No. 1 UCLA, and in overtime against No. 2 USC.
Last season, Stanford took down Pepperdine in Malibu, winning 14-11. The last time the Card played San Jose State was in 2022, winning 14-7 on The Farm.

Botond Balogh has been dominant to start the season, leading the team in points (37), goals (22) and assists (15). Fellow sophomroes Max Zelikov (21) and Ben Forer (20) are right behind him for the team goal lead.
