TULSA, Okla. – Stanford finished competition at the ITA All-American Championships, with the Cardinal combining for a trio of wins in singles and one in doubles.
Making his first appearances for the Cardinal, Alex Chang posted his fist two wins of the year, with both coming against ranked opponents. Slotted into the main draw, Chang took out Clemson’s No. 58 Victor Markov in the round of 64, 6-3, 6-2. Following a defeat in the round of 32, Chang added a win in the consolation round of 32, 5-7, 7-6 (4), 6-4, against Florida’s No. 45 Jeremy Jin.
Nico Godsick also saw singles action in the qualifying round, taking out Wisconsin’s Patrik Meszaros in three sets, 4-6, 7-6 (4), 6-4, before falling in the qualifying round of 32.
Godsick and Hudson Rivera came together for their second tournament of the fall in doubles, and the pair earned a win over the nation’s No. 12 pair from Notre Dame, 6-4, 4-6, 1-0 (4).
Stanford returns to action starting on Oct. 16 at the ITA Regional Championships, hosted by Pacific.
