STANFORD, Calif. – Libero Spencer Etzler has been voted the ACC Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced today.
Etzler anchored the Stanford defense in a pair of road sweeps at Boston College and Syracuse. The freshman averaged 6.17 digs per set and had zero reception errors on a combined 14 attempts.
At Boston College, Etzler racked up a match-high 17 digs and three assists in the sweep. She followed up with a career-high 20 digs, two assists, an ace and a kill at Syracuse.
It marks the third weekly honor for Etzler, including her second defensive nod. She has recorded double-digit digs in 14 of 17 matches played.
No. 5 Stanford plays host to Florida State on Thursday and No. 14 Miami on Sunday. Both matches will be streamed on ACCNX.
