STANFORD, Calif. – A handful of former Cardinal players have been summoned by their countries for matches during the October international window.
U.S. Women’s National Team head coach Emma Hayes named a 26-player training camp roster for three upcoming October matches against Portugal (October 23) and New Zealand (October 26). That list includes former Cardinal Catarina Macario and Kennedy Wesley. Wesley’s teammate with the San Diego Wave, Nya Harrison, will suit up for the Philippines against Uzbekistan on October 29 at Rizal Memorial Stadium in Manila. The match will be the inaugural event of “GoTyme Bank Match Up” aimed to consistently deliver high-level football matches against top international opposition, both men’s and women’s, right to the home soil of the Philippines.
After finishing their UEFA Nations League group campaign level on points with Slovenia in League B – missing out on goal difference – former Cardinal Kyra Carusa will lead Ireland into a two-legged Play-Off facing Belgium, who are seven places ahead of them in the FIFA Women’s World Rankings. The first leg is set for October 24, followed by the second on October 28.
