- The fall portion of the 2025-26 schedule concludes this week as No. 7 Stanford Men’s Swimming takes part in the SMU Invitational in Dallas, Texas, at the Robson & Lindley Aquatics Center.
- The four-day event will observe the 2026 NCAA Championship Meet Format except for the 1650, which will be contested on Saturday. Finals will consist of four heats of any distance 200 and below, and three heats of any distance over 200. All relays will be swum in finals only.
- Individual and team scoring will be tracked according to the NCAA championship format. The top 16 individual places will score. Teams may score an unlimited number of individuals; however, only the top 2 placing relays from each team will score.
- The schedule of events for the SMU Invitational is listed below:
- 19 – 200 medley relay, 800 free relay
- 20 – 100 fly, 400 IM, 200 free, 100 breast, 200 free relay
- 21 – 100 back, 200 breast, 500 free, 50 free, 400 medley relay
- 22 – 1650 free, 200 IM, 100 free, 200 fly, 200 back, 400 free relay
- Stanford will not be competing in any diving events at the SMU Invitational. The three Cardinal divers competed at the Texas Diving Invitational last week, with Misha Andriyuk setting the school record in platform diving. Gunnar Grubbs reached the finals in both 1-meter and 3-meter diving.
- The last time Stanford competed as a group came at the non-scoring Triple Distance Meet at California on Nov. 7-8. Stanford earned eight individual wins from six different swimmers.
- Andres Dupont Cabrera won twice: first in the 200 free (1:34.57), and again in the 100 free (42.78).
- Finn Harland was the second double winner, taking first in the 50 and 100 back races.
- Stanford swept the top three positions in the 50 free at the Triple Distance Meet, with Jonathan Tan leading the way, winning with a time of 19.45.
- Henry McFadden became a three-time winner this season with his victory in the 200 fly (1:43.10).
- Following this week’s SMU Invitational, Stanford will not be in sanctioned action again until a trip to Southern California and dual meets against UC San Diego and USC, beginning on Jan. 16.
