STANFORD, Calif. - No. 4 Stanford women's swimming & diving added three more race victories during Thursday evening's session, continuing a strong weekend at the Texas Swimming Invitational.
The Cardinal remained perfect in relays in the meet, as Alana Berlin, Lucy Bell, Torri Huske, and Gigi Johnson turned in a 3:25.93 to claim the 400 medley relay crown. Stanford also finished second with the "B" group of Levenia Sim, Lucy Thomas, Caroline Bricker, and Annam Olasewere.
Bell added her second breaststroke victory in as many days, clocking a 2:04.69 to win the 200 breast by nearly three seconds. Bricker finished third in the event with a 2:07.87, while Addie Robillard posted a 2:09.50 and finished eighth in the "A" final.
Stanford went 1-2 in the 50 free, as Huske sprinted to the race title after a 21.01 effort, while Olasewere touched second with a lifetime-best 21.51, good for the third-fastest time in the Stanford Top 10. Johnson added an eighth-place finish in the event with a 22.21 mark.
Berlin (51.86) and Sim (52.25) each punched their tickets to the 100 backstroke "A" final, finishing fifth and eighth, respectively. Natalie Mannion was the Cardinal's highest-finisher in the 500 free, earning a seventh-place mark of 4:40.22.
The Texas Swimming Invitational wraps up on Friday, Nov. 21 with the 200 IM, 100 free, 200 fly, 200 back, and 400 free relay.
