- In its final action before the NCAA Individual Championships later this month, six Cardinal will split between two events this weekend.
- Caroline Driscoll, Tianmei Wang, Sein Myoung and Alyssa Ahn will be at the ITA Sectional Championships running from Nov. 6-9 in Seattle, the final opportunity to qualify individuals for the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships later this month in Orlando.
- Driscoll, Wang and Myoung are in the 32-player singles draw, each beginning their tournament on Thursday, Nov. 6 at 10:30 a.m.
- Driscoll will face UCLA's Ahmani Guichard, Wang, the No. 7 seed, will play Washington's Carina Syrtveit, and Myoung will play Washingotn State's Maxine Murphy.
- Driscoll is also paired with Alyssa Ahn in doubles. That 16-team bracket begins for the pair on Thursday at 9 a.m. against Northern Arizona's Madelynn Ludwig and Natalie Rainke.
- Driscoll, Wang and Myoung are in the 32-player singles draw, each beginning their tournament on Thursday, Nov. 6 at 10:30 a.m.
- Six players will qualify for the NCAA Singles Championship - the four semifinalists and two quarterfinal playoff winners, while three doubles teams will qualify for the NCAA Doubles Championship - the champion, runner-up and third-place playoff winner.
- Meanwhile, Morgan Shaffer and Emma Sun will be at the SDSU Fall Classic along from Nov. 7-9.
- The Cardinal has already qualified two in singles for the NCAA Individual Championships from Nov. 18-23.
- In Stanford’s first action of the fall, Valerie Glozman capped an incredible start to her sophomore season by winning the ITA Women’s All-American singles title, beating Carmen Herea of Texas in the final, 6-2, 6-3.
- Glozman is the first champion from Stanford since Hilary Barte in 2010 and the fourth all-time, joining Patty Fendick (1987), Sandra Birch (1989, 1990) and Barte.
- Her victory also edged the Cardinal in front of Florida for the most ITA All-American women’s singles titles of all time with five.
- Stanford’s superstar, who entered the year sixth in the ITA rankings and was seeded fourth at this tournament, dropped just one set in her six matches in North Carolina. Glozman picked up ranked wins over No. 52 Emilija Tverijonaite (Arizona State), No. 17 Mao Mushika (California), No. 47 Emma Charney (USC), No. 11 Teah Chavez (Ohio State) and No. 21 Herea.
- She’s won her last 14 collegiate matches dating back to last season and moved to 20-5 all-time against ranked opponents in her nearly one-and-a-half seasons on The Farm.
- Freshman Alyssa Ahn burst onto the scene in her second tournament for Stanford, winning the ITA Northwest Regional Championships singles title with a 6-0, 6-1 throttling California’s Naomi Xu.
- Ahn is the second consecutive freshman winner of the tournament for the Cardinal, following Valerie Glozman in 2024. Stanford has now produced the tournament singles champion in 13 of the last 15 years: Ahn (2025), Glozman (2024), Alexandra Yepifanova (2022), Connie Ma (2021), Michaela Gordon (2019, 2018, 2017), Taylor Davidson (2015), Carol Zhao (2014), Kristie Ahn (2013, 2010), Krista Hardebeck (2012) and Nicole Gibbs (2011).
- Ahn, who entered the year 90th in the ITA rankings and was seeded fifth at this tournament, dropped just one set in her six matches in Berkeley and picked up ranked wins over No. 68 Reece Carter (Washington) and No. 113 Berta Passola Folch (California). She’s 10-2 in her first 12 collegiate matches, including 5-2 against ranked opponents in her five weeks on The Farm.
- In beating Passola Folch 6-3, 7-5 in the semifinals on Monday, Ahn qualified for the NCAA Singles Championship next month in Orlando.
- The Cardinal entered the fall with five ranked singles players in Valerie Glozman(No. 6), Caroline Driscoll (No. 58), Monika Ekstrand (No. 83), Alyssa Ahn (No. 90) and Tianmei Wang (No. 98).

- Ekstrand, Ahn and Wang comprise the nation’s No. 1 recruiting class. All three are blue-chip recruits according to the Tennis Recruiting Network.
- It was a strong summer for the Cardinal, highlighted by Stanford participation at the US Open.
- Valerie Glozman and Alyssa Ahn both earned main draw wild cards, Glozman by winning the women's singles title at the American Collegiate Wild Card Playoffs in June and Ahn by winning the singles title at the USTA Billie Jean King Girls’ 18s National Championships.
- Monika Ekstrand received a women's qualifying draw wild card, while Tianmei Wang received a wild card into the girls' singles main draw.
- Stanford is in its second season under head coach Frankie Brennan. Last year, the Cardinal put together a 17-9 record, making its 43rd consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance and its 42nd trip to the Round of 16.
- Since joining the staff in 1996, Brennan has enhanced Stanford's reputation as the country's top program by helping guide the Cardinal to a 717-80 overall record, 12 NCAA championships, 21 conference regular-season titles and six conference tournament crowns. During his tenure, Brennan has mentored 39 All-Americans.
