STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford fencing head coach Alexander Massialas has added Gabi Cimpoaie to the coaching staff, overseeing foil specialists. Cimpoaie brings over 30 years of fencing experience to The Farm.
As a competitor, Cimpoaie has represented Romania at the World Championships, earning medals at the World University Games, Balkan Championship and National Championships. Over the last 15 years, Cimpoaie has coached individuals that have gone on to compete for and win medals both nationally and internationally. Cimpoaie has guided athletes to World Championships, and has seen several go on to compete in the NCAA.
Cimpoaie holds a degree in Pedagogy, Sport Management from Sport University Bucharest, Romania, as well as certificates from the International Coaching school in Romania.
