Honda Award for Soccer Opens in a new window

STANFORD, Calif. – Senior forward Jasmine Aikey has been named one of four finalists for the Honda Sport Award for Soccer, it was announced on Monday by Chris Voelz, Executive Director of The Collegiate Women Sports Awards (CWSA).

Aikey is joined by Seven Castain from Texas Christian University, Florida State University’s Jordynn Dudley and Izzy Engle of the University of Notre Dame. The native of Palo Alto, Calif. is a finalist for the second time in her career after previously earning the honor in 2023. Aikey is looking to become the first Cardinal to win the award since Catarina Macario in 2019.

The announcement comes during a landmark moment for the organization, as the CWSA celebrates its 50th anniversary during the 2025–26 collegiate athletics season. For five decades, the Honda Sport Award has honored the nation’s top women athletes in 12 NCAA-sanctioned sports, symbolizing “the best of the best in collegiate athletics.” The recipient will become a finalist for the prestigious Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year and the Class of 2025 Honda Cup, to be presented live on Monday, July 27, at 7 p.m. ET on CBS Sports Network.

The soccer finalists were selected by a panel of experts and coaches from the United Soccer Coaches. Voting for the Honda Sport Award for soccer is conducted by senior women administrators from more than 1,000 NCAA member institutions.

Aikey, a finalist for the MAC Hermann Trophy and the 2025 TopDrawerSoccer Player of the Year, was named United Soccer Coaches All-America first team and led the Cardinal in total points with 53, including a team-high 21 goals (seven game-winners) and 11 assists. The ACC-high 21 goals, third-most nationally this season, rank tied for fourth in a single season in program history, while her 53 points were the most in the nation this year and ranked fifth in Stanford history. Her point total is also the most by an ACC player since North Carolina’s Casey Nogueira registered 58 in 2008. The native of Palo Alto, Calif. contributed at least a point in 20 of the 25 matches this season, scored in 11 of her last 16, and managed a goal in 16 of the 25 contests overall – including five multi-goal games.

Aikey and the Cardinal made a third consecutive appearance in the College Cup this season, finishing as the national runner-up for the second time in the last three years.
