MIDLAND, Texas — The 2025 USA Diving Winter Nationals concluded on Tuesday at COM Aquatics Inc. in Midland, Texas. A pair of Stanford divers were in action over the long weekend, with Misha Andriyuk and Gunnar Grubbs representing the Cardinal.
Andriyuk, who set the Stanford program record in platform diving earlier in the fall, got another crack at it during Nationals, where he finished sixth overall with a score of 704.75 over 12 dives. In the finals, he had the highest score in consecutive dives. The first was a reverse 3 ½ somersault tuck that earned him 81.60. The second was a back 2 ½ somersault with 2 ½ twists, which he scored 82.80, making up a lot of ground on the leaderboard.
That sixth-place finish was the best of the two events for Andriyuk during Winter Nationals. He also scored a seventh-place finish in the synchronized men’s 3-meter, teaming up with Purdue’s Zachary Welsh. The two were in sixth after the prelims and scored 616.35 over 12 total dives.
Grubbs entered the 3-meter diving prelims and scored 300.35, ending his weekend in the quarterfinals. It was his third 3-meter appearance of the season, having won in the double dual against Arizona State and California and finishing third at the Texas Diving Invitational.
Former Stanford All-American Jack Ryan won the synchronized 3-meter event with Quinn Henninger of Indiana, defending their titles from the 2024 event. They scored 802.98, earning the top score in five of their six dives in the finals. Ryan also finished second in the 3-meter finals.
