STANFORD, Calif. - Following a season-opening victory at California, No. 3 Stanford men’s gymnastics swept the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) weekly awards.
Redshirt senior Nick Kuebler was named Gymnast of the Week, while Jun Iwai earned Freshman of the Week honors and Kiran Mandava collected Specialist of the Week recognition. It is the first career MPSF honor for each of the three Cardinal.
Competing for the first time since the 2024 season, Kuebler posting NCAA-leading scores on floor exercise (14.000) and still rings (13.900) to win both events titles, adding with a fifth-place finish on high bar in his season debut.
Iwai made an immediate impact in his first career meet for the Cardinalby finishing fourth on both floor exercise (13.600) and vault (14.000). The freshman’s performances contributed to Stanford’s NCAA-leading 54.800 team score on floor.
Mandava earned his first career MPSF weekly award after turning in a career-best 14.200 on pommel horse to claim the event title. The sophomore also placed fourth on parallel bars with a 12.900 routine, helping Stanford post NCAA opening-week team highs in each event.
Stanford returns to action on Saturday at the Rocky Mountain Open, where it will compete against host Air Force, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and GymACT's Arizona State.
