Stanford's weekend was highlighted by five event victories and several "Stanford Top 10" performances

SEATTLE, Wash. - Stanford track & field delivered a strong showing at the UW Preview, highlighted by five event victories, a meet record, and several "Stanford Top 10" performances inside Dempsey Indoor Facility.

Alyssa Jones delivered the marquee moment of the weekend in the women's high jump, as The Bowerman Watch List honoree set a new meet record with a 1.91m, setting a new career best and improving on her previous Stanford Top 10 mark. Jones remains the second-best indoor high jumper in program history.

On the track, Juliette Whittaker earned a statement win in the women's 1000m, battling down the stretch with Washington's Chloe Foerster before ultimately crossing the line at 2:37.54. Shattering the program record in the event, Whittaker's time was good for the second-ranked all-conditions performance in the NCAA.

Zane Bergen also produced a historic result in the men's 1000m, resetting his previous program record with a 2:18.98 time to remain Stanford's all-time indoor leader in the event. Sophia Kennedy placed fifth in the women's mile, running a 4:32.13 to move into fifth in Stanford history in the event.

The Cardinal saw a trio of middle distance runners set new Stanford Indoor Top 10 marks in the women's 600m. Madison Shults lead the field with a race-winning time of 1:29.37 to rank third all-time, while performances from Olivia Cieslak (1:30.76) and Amelia Everett (1:31.77) moved them into sixth and tenth on the list, respectively.

Stanford also saw some notable results from a pair of sprinter-jumpers, including Xavier Drumgoole, who posted the seventh-best Stanford indoor time in the men's 60m with a 6.85-second sprint. Drumgoole also added a runner-up finish in the men's long jump at 7.31 meters.

Alaysia Oakes also finished third in the women's 60m, before doubling back to win the women's long jump at 6.01 meters. Elena Cooper finished second in the long jump with a 5.77m mark.

The men's 3000m saw a strong effort from a trio of Cardinal, led by Leo Young’s third-place finish in 7:52.46, followed by James Dargan (7:55.87) and Evan Noonan (7:57.09). The women's 3000m saw two new personal bests from Hanne Thomsen (9:12.02) and Julia Flynn (9:13.05), who each placed in the top five.

Stanford will look to build on the momentum next weekend, as the season resumes at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Collegiate Invitational, hosted by the University of New Mexico on Jan. 23-24.
