CHARLOTTE, N.C. – After helping guide No. 4 Stanford men’s tennis to a 2-0 start to the spring season, freshman Jagger Leach has been named the ACC Freshman of the Week. The award is the program’s first in the category since it joined the conference.
Leach got out to a fast start in his spring slate, earning one win in singles and two in doubles. Playing with classmate Mark Krupkin at No. 2 doubles, Leach earned back-to-back wins to help the Cardinal claim both doubles points against Saint Mary’s and San Diego State. The Laguna Beach, California native earned his first-career win in singles against the Aztecs, posting a 6-4, 6-2 victory in the fourth position.
Stanford continues its fall campaign with ITA Kickoff Weekend at Arrillaga Tennis Center-Taube Pavilion, beginning with Utah on Friday, Jan. 23 at 10 a.m. and continuing Saturday, Jan. 24 against Oregon or Rice.
