David Shamah sweeps Gymnast of the Week honors, while Nick Kuebler is tabbed MPSF Specialist of the Week

STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford men's gymnastics collected another batch of weekly awards, earning conference and national recognition following the Cardinal's second-place finish at the Rocky Mountain Open.

David Shamah swept the MPSF and CGA Gymnast of the Week awards, while Nick Kuebler was tabbed the conference's Specialist of the Week.

Shamah led the Cardinal with a pair of event victories over the weekend, highlighted by a career-best 14.500 effort on parallel bars to earn a share of first place in the event. The McKinney, Texas native also finished fifth on pommel horse (13.800), adding to a 79.700 all-around score to pace the Rocky Mountain Open field. Shamah's performance on Saturday also qualified him for the Winter Cup next month.

Nick Kuebler continued his impressive start to the season with a 14.000 routine to capture the high bar crown. The MPSF Gymnast of the Week recipient last week, Kuebler, also added runner-up finishes on floor exercise (13.950) and still rings (14.050).

Stanford is set to compete in Burnham Pavilion for the first time this season, hosting the Stanford Open on Jan. 24 at 7 p.m. PT.
