Notables

  • After a 5-1 run and Overall Team Cup Championship at the 2026 Outrigger Duke Kahanamoku Beach Classic, No. 1 Stanford hosts four local programs for its annual Battle of the Bay tournament Feb. 27-28.  The Cardinal takes on San Francisco and Santa Clara on Friday and UC Davis and Saint Mary's on Saturday.
  • Stanford's matches each day are set for 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Neutral-site matches are scheduled for 12 p.m. each day (San Francisco vs. Santa Clara, Friday; UC Davis vs. Saint Mary's, Saturday). Live scoring updates will be available on StatBroadcast and all of Stanford's matches will be streamed on B1G+
  • The Cardinal's No. 1 ranking after Week 1 marks its first-ever top poll selection in program history. Only seven other programs nationwide have been ranked No. 1: current No. 2 UCLA, No. 4 USC, No. 6 Florida State, No. 7 TCU, No. 12 LSU, No. 13 Hawaii and Pepperdine.
  • Stanford's 5-1 run in Hawaii included wins over then-No. 1 UCLA, No. 4 USC, No. 6 Texas, No. 7 LMU and No. 16 Hawai'i. At the conclusion of the tournament, Avery Jackson was named Best Attacker after her and partner Brooke Rockwell went 4-2 on court two.
  • The 13th season of Stanford beach volleyball continued to write new pages in the history books as the program secured its first-ever conference title in its inaugural season as a member of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) while matching the program’s single-season wins record and taking down two No. 1s in the process. The Cardinal captured 18 top-20 ranked wins throughout the 2025 season, including victories over two then No. 1-ranked teams (USC (Feb. 21), UCLA (April 24)) and an upset of then-No. 3 Cal Poly (April 11).
  • After the 2025 MPSF Championships, Stanford’s twos pair of freshman Avery Jackson and sophomore Brooke Rockwell were named to the MPSF All-Tournament Team while Bell and Belardi were named the tournament's most valuable pair. The post-tournament awards from the conference kicked off an incredible awards season, where the Cardinal saw four student-athletes named AVCA All-Americans, secured a conference-leading eight MPSF all-conference honors, Belardi and Bell earn an AVCA Top-Flight award, and seven were named to the inaugural MPSF All-Academic Team.
  • The Cardinal’s future outlook is strong. In 2026, Stanford returns all but two members of its NCAA Championship lineup. Stanford’s youth-driven roster and stellar incoming recruiting class continue the program’s drive to compete and win a national title.
  • Next up, the Cardinal travels to Los Angeles, Calif. for the MPSF Midseason Rumble. Stanford will take on conference opponents Oregon and No. 12 LSU on Friday at USC, and No. 5 Texas and No. 2 UCLA Saturday at Mapes Beach on the campus of the Bruins. Friday's matches are set for 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. starts, respectively, while Saturday's action kicks off at 11 a.m. and concludes at 3 p.m. All matches will be streamed on B1G+.
