STANFORD, Calif. — No. 8 Stanford men's swimming is catching fire at the right time, and the program is seeing individuals rise to the occasion down the stretch. Daniel Li is one of the latest examples, and he was named the final ACC Swimmer of the Week during the 2025-26 season.
Li made history as the Cardinal defeated No. 5 California on Friday. He took first in the 200 breast with a time of 1:50.79, setting the Stanford men's program record with the victory. The previous record was set in 2025 by Li's former teammate, Ron Polonsky. It is the third-fastest 200 breast time in the ACC this season, and the sixth-fastest in the NCAA.
The Cardinal closed out the regular season with three ACC weekly winners. Gunnar Grubbs was the lone diver honored this year by the conference, while Henry McFadden and Li both took home the weekly swimming award. McFadden and Li won it in consecutive weeks of competition for Stanford.
Stanford is not in competition again until the ACC Championships, which begin on Feb. 15 with the diving portion and continue with swimming on Feb. 17. The final day of competition is Feb. 21. Georgia Tech is the host in 2026.
