Spring Begins in Tucson

Top-ranked Cardinal in action for first time in 2026

  • No. 1 Stanford women’s golf returns to action with its first tournament of 2026, heading to Tucson for the Arizona Thunderbird Intercollegiate on Feb. 9-10.
  • The tournament is played at Tucson Country Club, hosted by the University of Arizona. It plays as a par-72 and is 6,736 yards in length.
  • The first two rounds take place on Monday, Feb. 9, while the final round is played on Tuesday, Feb. 10. Both days begin with shotgun starts at 7:30 a.m. PT.
  • Aside from Stanford, there are 4 ranked teams in the field: No. 18 Arizona State, No. 20 Oklahoma State, No. 21 Baylor, and No. 22 Arizona.
  • Stanford enjoyed another successful fall season, winning two stroke play tournaments and finishing second in the other.
  • The Cardinal’s tournament wins came at the Stanford Intercollegiate and the Nanea Invitational. Stanford set the Stanford Golf Course women’s team record (817, -35) and set the program record for score on a par-73 at Nanea (832, -44).
  • Stanford added two individual winners in the fall: Megha Ganne won the Stanford Intercollegiate, her third career win, and Meja Örtengren won the Nanea Invitational, her second career win.
  • Heading into the spring, Stanford has four golfers currently in the top-five of the World Amateur Golf Rankings: Paula Martín Sampedro (2), Andrea Revuelta (3), Megha Ganne (4), and Meja Örtengren (5). Kelly Xu sits inside the top-20 at No. 19.
  • Prior to the start of the spring season, five current Cardinal and one future Cardinal were selected to compete in the 2026 Augusta National Women’s Amateur. Megha Ganne, Paula Martín Sampedro, Meja Örtengren, Andrea Revuelta, and Kelly Xu will all head to Augusta on April 1-4 to compete in the prestigious amateur event. Nikki Oh, who signed with Stanford in November, is also scheduled to compete.
  • The spring schedule features three full-field stroke-play tournaments and match play against San Jose State. The ACC Championship begins on April 16.
  • Stanford’s lineup is as follows: Paula Martín Sampedro, Meja Örtengren, Anna Song, Kelly Xu, and Megha Ganne. Andrea Revuelta is competing as an individual.
