Wolfpack Wins at Stanford

No. 27 NC State beats No. 21 Cardinal 4-0

STANFORD, Calif. – No. 21 Stanford dropped an ACC dual at home to No. 27 NC State on Saturday afternoon, 4-0.

The Cardinal nearly seized momentum in doubles when Alyssa Ahn delivered an ace to seal a 6-4 victory on court two. On court one, Caroline Driscoll and Monika Ekstrand were up 6-5, 40-30 on the nation’s No. 4 pair of Gabriella Broadfoot and Victoria Osuigwe. But the NC State duo reeled off nine consecutive points to clinch the doubles point for the Wolfpack.

Stanford singles defeats came on the back courts, with Morgan Shaffer falling on six (6-1, 6-2), Sein Myoung on five (6-0, 6-0) and Tianmei Wang on four (6-3, 6-2).

The Cardinal will step out of conference one final time when it hosts Pepperdine next Friday, March 6 at 2 p.m.
