No. 7 Cardinal Finishes as ACC Championship Runner-Up

Landry and Robinson share beam title; Bărbosu wins floor crown

GREENSBORO, N.C. – No. 7 Stanford finished as the ACC championship runner-up, rebounding from a difficult first rotation to fall by just 0.025 to No. 15 Clemson Saturday night in First Horizon Coliseum.

The Tigers secured the victory with a team total of 197.100, followed by the Cardinal with a 197.025, No. 14 California with a 196.900, No. 20 NC State with a 196.500, No. 22 UNC with a 196.025, and Pitt with a 194.450.

Stanford took home two event crowns, as juniors Temple Landry and Sienna Robinson shared the beam title with 9.925, and freshman Ana Bărbosu won the floor championship with 9.950.

After the meet, senior Anna Roberts was named ACC Gymnast of the Year, Robinson was honored as the conference’s Specialist of the Year, and Rodgers Family Director of Gymnastics Tabitha Yim was awarded ACC Coach of the Year.

The meet did not start as the Cardinal hoped, posting its second-lowest vault team score of the year with 48.800. Sophomore Ui Soma and Taralyn Nguyen posted the highest scores of the rotation with matching 9.825s, followed by a 9.800 from senior Anna Roberts and a 9.700 from leadoff redshirt-freshman Levi Jung-Ruivivar. Freshman vault specialist Summer Gronski nearly stuck her Yurchenko full vault, but with a step forward on the landing, earned a 9.650.

After one rotation, California led with a team total of 49.325, followed by NC State with 49.150, Clemson with 49.125, and Stanford with 48.800.

Stanford turned the meet around on bars, posting a 49.425 behind five scores of 9.875 each from Jung-Ruivivar, senior Ava Sorrento, junior Sienna Robinson, Roberts, and Soma, and a 9.925 from Bărbosu.

Halfway through the meet, the Cardinal slowly but surely started moving up in the standings, with the Golden Bears leading with 98.475, followed by Clemson with 98.400, Stanford with 98.225, and NC State in fourth with 98.175.

The Cardinal continued its upward progression with a 49.325 on beam, led by 9.925s from Robinson and fellow junior Temple Landry to each win a share of the event’s title. Jung-Ruivivar added the team’s third 9.900 score in the fourth spot while senior Claire Dean led off with a 9.850 and Bărbosu anchored with a 9.725.

Stanford sat in third after the third rotation, with California leading 147.800, Clemson in second with 147.650, the Cardinal with 147.550, and the Wolfpack with 147.350.

The Cardinal finished the night with a bang, totaling a 49.525 floor team score highlighted by Bărbosu’s title-winning anchor routine of 9.950. Jung-Ruivivar came in second with a 9.925 in the fourth spot of the lineup, while sophomore Alana Walker and Roberts each added scores of 9.900 in the second and fifth spots. Leadoff Robinson and Nguyen both posted scores of 9.850.

Stanford aims to maintain the excellence it has demonstrated in the regular season when it begins its pursuit of a national title at the 2026 NCAA Regional Championships. With a spot in the regional championships mathematically locked, the Cardinal awaits its postseason ranking and competition location, announced Monday at 10 am PT on ESPNU.
