MILLBRAE, Calif. — Top-ranked Stanford women’s golf sent three individuals to the Silicon Valley Showcase at Green Hills Country Club on Monday and Tuesday. The par-71 course proved difficult for the entire field, but the Cardinal landed all three of its golfers in the top half of the field.
Leigh Chien finished with a top-20 performance, earning a share of 19th with a 9-over 222. She was consistent all week, with scores of 73, 74, and 75. After starting her first round 3-over through five holes, she finished the round 1-under and bogey-free, which helped launch her up the leaderboard. She had four birdies, which wasn’t far off from some of the best in the field trying to navigate tricky course conditions.
Kaila Elsayegh recorded the most birdies of any Stanford golfer over the final two rounds at the Silicon Valley Showcase (6), and used those to finish with an 11-over 224. She was hovering around par after the first 18 holes on Monday, shooting a 72, and backed it up with a 75 and 77 over the final rounds. Elsayegh had four double bogeys across the two days, and if those were cleaned up, she would have been in contention for a top-10 finish. She finished in a tie for 24th.
Nora Sundberg had the lowest score in a single round by the Card this week, posting a 1-under 70 in the opening round. There was a lot of color on her scorecard, with seven birdies, but also two bogeys and two double bogeys. She finished the week with scores of 77 and 78 to finish with a 12-over 225 in her first tournament action of 2026, finishing in a tie for 29th.
Five of the nine Stanford women’s golf team are currently in Augusta, Ga. for the 2026 Augusta National Women’s Amateur, which begins on Wednesday. The four-day event will feature 36 holes of stroke play, after which the field will be cut to the top 30 and ties. Those individuals will play the final 18 holes on Saturday at Augusta National.
