STANFORD, Calif. - NCAA postseason competition gets underway next week, as No. 2 Stanford will send three divers to the NCAA Diving Zone E Championships in Flagstaff, Ariz., on March 9-11.
Women's competition at the Wall Aquatic Center begins with the 1-meter dive on Monday, followed by the 3-meter dive on Tuesday, before action wraps with the platform dive on Wednesday. All sessions begin at 11:30 a.m. PT and will be streamed live on NAU's Lumberjack All-Access.
Headlining Stanford's registered divers is freshman Ellie Cole, who broke the conference and meet record with a 392.40 to win the ACC Platform Dive title. Also representing the Cardinal are multiple-time ACC event finalist Molly Gray and two-time NCAA qualifier Emilie Moore.
The NCAA allocated 41 women's diving spots for the national championships before this week's swimming selections, with allocations distributed across the five zones based on the number of divers who finished in the top 16 in each event at last year’s NCAA Championships.
Diving Zone E earned seven automatic bids in both the 3-meter and platform events, and six qualifiers in the 1-meter dive. All qualifiers will compete at the NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships, slated for March 18-21.
