Okorie Sweeps ACC Weekly Honors

The freshman shares both awards with Duke’s Cameron Boozer

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Winning his fourth and fifth weekly honors of the season, Stanford’s Ebuka Okorie has been named ACC Co-Player and Co-Rookie of the Week, along with Duke’s Cameron Boozer. Okorie has captured four ACC Rookie of the Week honors this season while the Player of the Week recognition is the first in his career.

In Stanford’s road victories over Notre Dame and NC State, Okorie put up averages of 28.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game while shooting 56.1 percent from the floor and 57.1 percent from beyond the arc.

Okorie scored 24 points with seven assists against Notre Dame, finishing 10-for-19 from the floor with a trio of 3-pointers, and then erupted for 33 points against NC State on career highs of 13 field goals and five 3-pointers. Cementing his place in ACC history, Okorie tied Duke’s Marvin Bagley III (2017-18) for the most 30-point games by a freshman in ACC history (7), and he continued his assault on the Stanford single-season scoring list, passing Casey Jacobsen and Todd Lichti (twice) for eighth with 671 points this year.

The win over NC State gave Stanford its fifth victory in quadrant one this year.

Stanford returns to action at the ACC Tournament on Tuesday, March 10 against Pittsburgh. The 11 a.m. PT (2 p.m. ET) tip will air on ACC Network.
