STANFORD, Calif. - The Cardinal women secured their third consecutive Big Meet title over California in a rain-soaked afternoon at Cobb Track & Angell Field, highlighting the 131st edition of the storied rivalry.
Stanford won 101-57 with 12 event victories in the women's competition, securing its largest margin of victory since the 2018 meet in Berkeley. The Golden Bears were victorious on the men's side by a score of 112-45.
The Cardinal set the tone early in the Women's 4x100m relay, as the quartet of Alaysia Oakes, Alyssa Jones, Samantha Ennin, and Tess Stapleton matched the meet record with a 44.23 mark, good for the eighth-fastest time in program history.
Oakes also added a new outdoor personal best of 13.02m to win the women's triple jump, improving upon her No. 6 position in the Stanford Top 10. Jones added an additional field event victory in the high jump (1.78m), while Ennin led the way in the long jump (6.11m), where Stanford placed three in the top four.
In the sprints, Stapleton won the 200 meter individual title in 23.68, leading the group of Cardinal in the top four that included Elena Cooper (24.45), Cate Peters (25.22) and Sage Hinton (25.35).
Mena Scatchard impressed with a winning double for the Cardinal, winning the 3,000 meters in 9:28.77, before leading a 1-2 finish in the 800 meters (2:04.14), with Amelia Everett finishing second with a lifetime-best 2:05.13.
Juliette Whittaker secured two victories of her own, winning the 400 meters in 53.99 and earning a share of the 1500-meter crown, where she finished in a dead heat with teammate Riley Stewart with a mark of 4:20.43. Stewart also finished as the runner-up in the 3,000 meters at 9:30.51.
Emma Sralla won her second discus title in as many weeks with a 51.92m throw, followed by teammates Julia Lemmon (50.71m) and Brandy Atuatasi (47.98m).
Diane Richard led a dominant performance in the 400-meter hurdles with a race-winning time of 1:00.02, followed by Sara Rivas (1:02.17) and Madison Romain (1:05.32). On the men's side, Ryce Reynolds won as the lone Cardinal in the event with a 52.57 time.
The Cardinal men were particularly strong in the distance events, with James Dargan winning the 1,500 meters (3:53.84) and Evan Noonan taking the 3,000-meter race (8:12.97).
Callum Sherry added a win in the 3000m steeplechase with a 9:37.89 effort, while Zachary Ryan rounded out the men's individual winners with a 47.26 in the 400 meters.
As is tradition, the meet concluded with the 4x400 relays as both teams lined the front straightaway, and the Cardinal ended the meet with a bang by sweeping both races for the second consecutive season.
The Stanford quartet of Addie Pendergast, Stapleton, Jones, and Whittaker captured the women's title with a 3:39.00, while Ryan, Reynolds, Colin Abrams, and Gabriel Ajaegbu combined for a 3:13.06 in the final race of the day.
The meet also acted as the program's Senior Day, as the program honored its 15 student-athletes graduating in the Class of 2026.
Stanford continues its outdoor season next weekend with a pair of meets, splitting between the Mt. Sac Relays and the Bryan Clay Invitational on April 16-18.
