STANFORD, Calif. – On Senior Night in Maples Pavilion, No. 14 Stanford swept Menlo College, 25-16, 25-16, 25-13, to end the regular season.
Stanford (11-14, 8-6 MPSF) hit .338 as a team, while holding Menlo (3-20, 2-12 MPSF) to a -.103 clip – the lowest by a Cardinal opponent this season.
Senior opposite Moses Wagner led the team with a match-high 12 kills on .524 hitting, a match-best seven digs, three aces and a block.
Senior Theoren Brouillette controlled the offense with 28 assists to go with six digs, a kill and six digs. The setter also tallied a season-best five blocks and matched his career-high with four aces.
Senior outside hitters Ryan DuRoss and Alex Rottman combined for 11 kills, five blocks and an ace. Senior middle blocker Luke McFall hit .833 with five kills on six errorless swings, four blocks and two digs.
Senior Theo Snoey, who hadn’t played since Feb. 21, subbed into the match in the second set to serve and ended the match on the court with his class.
Sophomore Kaumana Carreira chipped in with four kills and a match-high six blocks, while sophomore libero Evan Porter finished with five digs.
Up next, Stanford will learn its seed for the MPSF Tournament on Sunday. The Cardinal will travel to Provo, Utah for the MPSF quarterfinals on Wednesday.
