Cardinal wins final regatta before ICSA competition next week

LONG BEACH, Calif. – The Cardinal wrapped up its final competition before ICSA National Championships this weekend, finishing first at the PCCSC Open Fleet Race Championship.

“The team battled through some tricky conditions and came out with a win,” said assistant coach Augie Dale. “Luke and Amiya put up a solid five-race win streak which was impressive!“

Stanford swept both divisions, with the A boat taking first on 46 points. Lucas Woodworth and Amiya Stroumza took first in seven of 14 races, including five-straight victories.

The B boat featured Thomas Whidden, Alexandra Jones and Caroline Geiger, finishing with 48 points behind five victories in 14 tries.

Stanford finishes the 2025-26 season with eight PCCSC titles, winning the Women's Singlehanded (Sept. 21), Match Race (Oct. 5), Women's Fall (Oct. 26), Open Fall (Nov. 16), Open Team Race (Apr. 5), Women's Fleet Race (Apr. 12) and Women's Team Race (Apr. 12) Championships.

Next up for the Cardinal is the ICSA Team Race National Championships. The Open competition gets underway on Thursday, and the Women’s competition starts on Sunday.
