13th Win in a Row

Cacatian’s three-run homer the difference in 4-2 win

STANFORD, Calif. – The No. 15 Cardinal picked up a 13th-straight win today, led by another strong pitching performance from the Stanford staff. The Card took down Pacific 4-2 to move to 35-12 on the season, posting a seventh-straight game with fewer than three runs allowed.

Pacific opened the scoring, plating two on a two-out triple in the top of the third.

In the fourth, the Cardinal took the lead on a big fly from Izzy Cacatian. The freshman entered at a pinch hitter, and crushed a three-run home run to left field to go ahead 3-2.

Cacatian’s long ball was her third of the season, and pushed her season RBI total to 12.

In the circle, Alyssa Houston responded with a shutdown inning in the top of the fifth to keep the Cardinal in front.

Stanford added another in the bottom of the fifth, when Addyson Sheppard was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to make it 4-2.

Houston kept the Tigers scoreless in the sixth, but with two outs in the seventh Pacific doubled to bring the tying run to the plate. Zoe Prystajko came out of the bullpen to get the final out, striking out the lone batter she faced to pick up her fourth save of the season.

Houston got the win in the circle to move to 5-2 on the year.

Stanford closes the regular season on Friday, hosting Sacramento State for senior day at 6:00 p.m. PT. The game will be broadcast on ACC Network Extra, and tickets are still available at Tickets.GoStanford.com.
