RALEIGH, N.C. - No. 3 Stanford began competition at the 2026 ACC Championship on Friday with five heat victories while setting a first varsity four ACC Championship record.
Stanford’s first varsity four crossed the finish line in 6:52.47, breaking its previous mark of 6:53.20 set at last year’s conference championship.
Stanford started racing in the third varsity eight heats, taking a seven-second win over No. 8 Virginia with a time of 6:28.41.
The Cardinal followed with another win in the first varsity eight, pulling ahead of No. 10 Syracuse and finishing nearly eight seconds in front of the Orange.
The second varsity eight continued Stanford’s winning streak, finishing in 6:13.99 for a 7.7-second victory.
Stanford’s most commanding performance came in the varsity four, crossing the line 14.81 seconds in front of Syracuse.
The Cardinal closed the session with an eight-second win in the second varsity four heat over No. 10 Syracuse, Notre Dame, No. 14 Miami, SMU and Boston College.
With Friday’s results, Stanford advances to all five grand finals Saturday, aiming for its fifth consecutive conference title.
